| In 1982, Dan and Lorraine Rodrigue opened Studio1
Photography in their home in Dresden, Maine. At the time, it occupied
a space of about 250 feet. Today, the studio has grown to over 1,200
square feet. Approximately 1.5 acres of manicured gardens line the
banks of the Eastern River outside.
In September 1994, Dan and Lorraine opened a second location in
the Arts District of Downtown Portland. The former ballroom of the
Maine Charitable Mechanics Association has been restored into a
3,000 square foot state of the art imaging facility. Studio1 uses
high-resolution, digital photography to ensure memories are captured
perfectly, and remain perfect.
In 1995 in Chicago, Illinois, Dan was presented the prestigious
Photographic Craftsman Degree. Only four other photographers in
the state of Maine have received this degree. Believing that he
must constantly be learning more about his profession, Dan is currently
working to obtain his Masters Degree. He is one of three Maine recipients
of the National Award from the Professional Photographers Assoc.
of New England.
Dan was once the President of the Maine Professional Photographers
Association and President of the Professional Photographers Association
of New England. He is currently a member of both, as well as the
Professional Photographers Association of America, and the Greater
Portland Chamber of Commerce.
